I have been working on improving my fitness for a while now. The better your physical fitness, the better you can concentrate and the less mistakes you make. This is especially true in the warmer weather when the heat can seriously affect drivers. Even in amateur & club racing it's a good idea to stay in the best shape possible because it will help your performance, not to mention saving weight in your car!
This book is much more affordable than a personal trainer. Written by a medical specialist, it covers a wide range of topics including: measuring your fitness, designing an exercise plan, motorsport-specific strength training, improving reaction times, weight loss, and first aid.
I bought this book a couple of years ago, and it is one I keep referring back to for useful advice. I would definitely recommend it as a "must have" for any racer on a budget.
